In 2011, Mr. Hiester earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Widener University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and earned Dean’s Honors in five out of six semesters.

During his first two years at Widener Law School, Mr. Hiester completed two judicial internships at the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, serving under both the Honorable Judge William J. Mazzola and the Honorable Judge Allan L. Tereshko.

In his final year of law school, Mr. Hiester was hand-selected by the law school’s dean, Linda Ammons, and Delaware Supreme Court Justice Randy J. Holland to serve as one of only five of the law school’s Josiah Oliver Wolcott Fellows for the Delaware Supreme Court. As a Wolcott Fellow, Mr. Hiester spent his 2010-2011 academic year clerking for Delaware Supreme Court Justice Henry DuPont Ridgley, where his responsibilities included briefing Justice Ridgley on the intricacies of the Court’s forthcoming oral arguments and assisting Justice Ridgley in drafting the Court’s opinions.

Mr. Hiester also had the honor of being chosen to serve as the Internal Managing Editor of the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law, Widener Law School’s oldest and most prestigious law review organization. He trained in Widener Law School’s Intensive Trial Advocacy Program, served as an Academic Support Fellow, and was selected as a member of Widener Law School’s Moot Court Honor Society.

Mr. Hiester joined The Cushane Law Firm, LLC in March 2012, where he has co-authored several briefs in cases of first impression filed with the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey and the New Jersey Supreme Court. He is licensed to practice in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
